London Diocesan Board for Schools:

Welcome to the London Diocesan Board for Schools teacher training programme.

The London Diocesan Board for Schools teacher training programme is a School Centre Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) course offering graduates the opportunity to train to become early years primary school teachers able to teach in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. Our course takes place both in our centre in North London and in our partner schools, so that the practical training is solidly underpinned by theoretical input. It leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Professional Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), validated by the University of Roehampton, and will equip you with the skills and knowledge for a very worthwhile career in education.

Our trainees come from a wide age range, background, experience and ethnicity that is evident in our schools and the communities that we serve. We positively welcome and encourage applicants who reflect this diversity.

If you join us you will be at the cutting edge of one of the most important and rewarding professions. You will need to be flexible, resilient and open to meeting new challenges. Teacher training in one year is hard work but you will be very well supported by subject tutors, link tutors and mentors. As a trainee teacher you will have the opportunity to become fully involved in all aspects of school life and by the end of the course you will have an in-depth understanding of how children learn and develop - a strong foundation on which to build your future professional development.

Please read through the information contained on our website and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I do hope you will consider making an application - my colleagues and I at the LDBS PGCE SCITT would very much enjoy meeting you.
